On the eve of entering the 21st century, Ms. Okada Shoko, a senior translator of “I and Xiao Qian” in the academic field of EGL, never to give up and translate it into Japanese and meet Japanese readers. I feel it Unlimited joy. This book can be said to be a companion piece to “travelers without a map”. As early as the early nineties, the Japanese translation of that memoir of Xiao Qian came out. In “I and Xiao Qian”, I honestly recalled the hard life that I and Xiao Qian had lived together for nearly four decades. Since our conclusion in 1954, the two of us have successively experienced two major catastrophes in the modern history of China: the anti-right of 1957 and the “Cultural Revolution” in 1966-1976. How many wives and children scattered, broken home. Although we are also very tortured, finally boil up to see the sun today. Nowadays, my son has become an artist outside China and both of us have been penniless.
