Our factory is a large-scale basic chemical raw material enterprise with 5,542 employees. Since 1980, our factory has been listed as one of the ten pilot enterprises in Beijing approved by the State Council for “independent accounting, national taxation, and self-financing”; in 1983, it was listed as a wage reform in Beijing. One of the eleven household pilot companies; in 1984, it was listed as one of the thirty-three pilot companies in Beijing that implemented the director responsibility system. In June 1984, my 38-year-old new factory manager started taking up his post. At that time, many topics were studied in front of companies, but the central link was based on reforms.
