艺术史家贡布利曾指出:“我们不知道艺术是怎么开始的,正如我们不知道语言是怎么开始的一样。如果我们说艺术意味着建筑庙宇,房屋,制作绘画,雕塑,或编制图案,那么没有一个民族没有艺术。”人类的进步推进着文化的进步,中西文化都是在经历时间的敲打后而形成的,而要讲其差异还要从“轴心时代”讲起,[1]因为从那时,无论是东方或者西方才出现了主导的流派。从孔子,老子到墨子,从荷马,柏拉图等哲学家,他们的出现改变了人们对历史艺术的观念,使对造型有了新的认识,同样使他们打开了艺术发展的理论性道路。
