地质矿产部第四纪地质研究中心挂靠在地质矿产部海洋地质研究所(青岛).一年来第四纪地质研究中心的建设有了新的进展.新建的实验楼和图书资料楼已建成投入使用,明年将投资兴建多功能培训中心大楼,完工后这一配套的建筑群可为CCOP成员国提供有关第四纪地质及其它培训服务.实验室建设取得了巨大进展,年代学系统已建成~14C测年、古地磁、微体古生物和抱粉鉴定等专门实验室,~(210)Pb实验室也正在筹建中;物质成分测试系统已建成化学分析、有机分析、红外光谱、紫外光谱、激光光谱、2米光栅光谱、原子吸收、X光粉晶衍射、碳氧稳定同位素质谱、镜面反射率测定、重砂矿物鉴定、薄片光片鉴定、粒度分析等专门实验室,已能承担有关培训和测试任务.

The chemical composition testing system has been established for chemical analysis, organic analysis, infrared spectroscopy, ultraviolet spectroscopy and laser spectroscopy , 2-meter grating spectroscopy, atomic absorption, X-ray crystallography, carbon-oxygen stable isotope mass spectrometry, specular reflectance, heavy sand mineral identification, flake identification, particle size analysis and other specialized laboratories, has been able to undertake the training and testing task.
