The effects of iron (Ⅲ) -buffered solution-1, 10-phenanthroline mixed solution as reagent, direct determination of sulfite in water, and the composition ratio of chromogenic solution on the determination were studied. The analytical method was applied to the determination of sulfite in surface water and groundwater, and satisfactory results were obtained. The minimum detectable concentration was 0.052mg / L, the recoveries were 98.1% ~ 101%, the coefficient of variation was less than 10%
