Two central hydroxyl group containing Schiff base type ligands L^1 and L^2 as well as their metal complexes L^1-2CuCl2·3H2O and L^2-Zn2CL2·C2H5OH were synthesized and characterized. The crystal and molecular structures of L^2 and its zinc comple
