柴油机在工作过程中，由于各种原因的影响，使压缩系的压缩力不足，造成燃油燃烧不完全、冒黑烟、柴油机工作无力、启动困难。如果压缩力严重不足时，柴油机根本就不能启动和工作。压缩力是指柴油机启动时气缸产生的压力。而产生气缸压力不足的原因有以下几方面。
