杭州有一道新增的文化风景线很值得去看,那就是位于小河路运河边的河畔书屋。这里,沿河有八个亭子,每个亭子都是一个独立的特色书屋,有的只提供爱情小说,有的陈列音乐书籍,有的满屋子都是漫画,完全宅男风格,有的一看就是文艺青年阅读天地。徜徉其间,浓浓的文化气息扑面而来,让人流连忘返。
事情的缘起是因为运河在申遗,运河集团不想让运河边商业气氛太浓,而想要这里充满文化学习气氛。而都市快报的记者、编辑们也不想只做新闻,还想做一些实实在在的服务大众文化的事情。于是,双方一拍即合,8月份开始准备,9月1日,杭州市首届学習节开幕,八个各具特色的河畔书屋也开门迎客。
换书、追星、淘旧书
书屋大受欢迎
大概杭州城北的书店比较少,作家签售活动也大都放在市中心,住在附近的居民一听说运河边会开出八个河畔书屋,并且当天有名作家签售,都很激动。那天出现在河畔书屋的作家是黄亚洲和《旗袍》等知名电视剧的编剧海飞,他们被很多读者包围。读者拉着作家,似乎有一肚子的话终于找到了倾诉对象。很多人一下子就买好几本两位作家的新书请他们签名。
为推动全民阅读而开出的“漂流书架”书屋,那天人气也很旺,一个上午接待换书读者近百名,平均2分钟就来一个读者。31岁的李鹏从武林门码头坐水上巴士过来,就是想为闲置的《暗灯》换本历史书。到了书屋,他两眼放光,一时不知道挑什么好。斟酌再三,选了本《小河往事》:“这里是小河路,这本书很合适,我可以了解一下这边的历史。”盗墓题材畅销书作家南派三叔的书屋则摆满了漫画书,这让路过的大学生很喜欢。浙江树人大学的女生跑到了现场,见到大师兄高兴得不行。而许多南派三叔的粉丝从微博上获得消息,也三五成群地赶来,其中女孩子居多。书屋里《盗墓笔记》漫画版甚至繁体字版都被粉丝买去好多,备货不足的南派三叔只好赶紧补货。
温馨的“爱的小站”,五彩气球,田园味的格子窗帘,河风一吹,风铃就叮叮当当发出悦耳的响声。《相亲才会赢》节目的相亲特派员小Y带了一对单身男女来相亲,两人在书屋边买书看书聊天,场景很是浪漫。另外,“爱的小站”的姻缘绳吸引了不少人光顾,有催促着自己弟弟写几个字为自己招亲的焦虑大姐;也有想抒发一下爱意的大学生,留下了这样的话:“糖糖,活泼可爱,美丽大方,虎牙两枚,请联系爱的小站”。
而那间二手图书小站,虽然摆的都是旧书,但吸引的读者绝对不比别的书屋少。冲着这个书屋来的读者,眼光都很锐利,一下子就能在旧书中搜到精品。比如,98元一套的《全明词辅编》,一位大伯花了不到三分之一的价钱就买走了。一会儿工夫,书店的旧书就被淘走好多。书屋主人姜爱军说,每个星期六,如果读者有旧书可以拿过来,他们会选择收购。
名人面对面 名师公开课
河畔书屋旨在让大众享受无门槛的文化阅读。于是,开张以来的9月、10月、11月份的双休日你逛到河畔书屋,经常能看到这里人头攒动。
11月4日,历时一周的河畔书屋迷你艺术展书法体验活动结束。仅7天时间收到读者的书法作品近一百件。“这个活动非常好,给我们这些人提供了很不错的平台。”书法爱好者孙启平高兴地说。为这次活动提供了签名画册的著名书法家王冬龄教授也大加赞赏:“书法其实就应该是这个样子,不仅仅是去博物馆看,而更应该自己写。我希望大家不仅仅喜欢书法家的作品,还要多去看看河畔书屋这些普通人写的东西,这才是书法艺术生活的土壤。”
9月11日那天,“爱的小站”和“越读馆”这两间书屋边围满了人,人人都仰着脸,愉悦地望着圆圈中间在讲话的人。
“爱的小站”书屋里站着的是情感作家、畅销书《结婚是女人一辈子的事》的作者陆琪。因为这位情感作家最近超红,“爱的小站”特地邀请他来做读者活动。穿着白衬衫,戴着黑边眼镜的他,温文尔雅,可说起话来却犀利无比。一个女孩子充满浪漫想法的提问,被他劈头盖脸一阵狠批,立马吐吐舌头坐下来。坐在书屋前和站着围观的,大多是热爱他的读者,百分之八十是未婚女性,不少是来自陆琪粉丝群的Q友。和别的作家的粉丝不同,这些女孩子不单单是为了签名,个个都是带着问题来的。陆琪一副很了解男性本质的样子,因为本身是男性,又用相当长的时间收集了很多情感婚姻实例,他的论点显得很有说服力。
在离“爱的小站”不远的“越读馆”,露天公益课堂的活动也很受欢迎。“越读馆”请来特级教师张祖庆,在运河边摆了几十张椅子,竖起一块黑板,一个完全开放式的公益课堂就有了雏形。召集来的中小学生拿着张老师提前要他们读的书《毛毛》,认认真真地坐在椅子上听讲。运河上一艘艘船驶过,船上的工人好奇地看着这群小学生。路过的游客也觉得有趣,“这些伢儿怎么跑到这里来上课了?”然后他们就停下来听张老师在讲些什么。表面上在讲《毛毛》,实际上在跟这些孩子聊时间、人生、欲望的问题。一位在旁边扫地的清洁工说,这些问题她以前没想过,这位老师讲得真好。“越读馆”负责人说,这样的课他们以后一定会经常推出,并希望更多的成人和孩子加入听讲的行列。
邀请大众一起当书屋达人
不管你是学生还是白领,不管你已经退休还是待业在家,都能报名参加“书屋达人”征集活动。参加者可以在8个主题书屋里面选一个自己喜欢的,然后尝试做7天店主。一时报名者云集,很多人都想借这7天来体验一下开书店的感觉。
9月12日起,这些书屋达人开始正式上岗。第一天工作结束,达人夏立春刚回到家就给我们发来短信:“今天去体验了一下书屋达人,感觉很不错,我会继续努力哦。”他还写了篇日记,详细写了第一天的美妙感受:“我去参加了征集书屋达人的面试,非常幸运地通过了面试,成为创意小站书屋的店长。今天我就去体验了一下做书屋店长的滋味。这一天下来总的感受还是不错的,内心还是愉快的。这份愉快的原因,我分析了一下主要来自于这三个方面:一是收入好。创意小站的负责人汤剑说,这个小屋不求盈利,一天能有几个人买书就很不错了。可我第一天就卖出了100多元的书,远远超过了汤剑所预想的数目,这自然带给了我好的心情。同时给了我很大的自信,也让我有了一些天真的想法:我是不是还擅长卖书?二是人气旺。我真想不到今天来创意小站的人真是络绎不绝呀!我在这里也分析了一下今天人流量大的原因,因为今天是中秋节,大家都放假;是桌面上的这些文艺类书籍,尤其是那本大块头的《鲁迅的面容》很吸引人,来创意小站的朋友都会翻翻它。三是与读者互动。桌面上摆着那个叫做羊驼的小宠物工艺品,回头率真是太高了,每个来创意小站的朋友都要摸它一下,还问我这东西叫做啥名字。这样很快拉近了与顾客的距离,同时也能听到朋友对书籍的一些心声,有些心声还引起了我的共鸣与思考……”
“运河流水带花香,河畔书屋吟华章。”运河之美,不仅在于她秀丽的风光,更在于她的文化底蕴。走进书屋,随手挑选一本自己喜爱的书册,运河水面拂来阵阵清风,书友们在这里细细地品味着书中的内容,在自然风景与人文情韵的交融下,呈现出至美的意境!□
Eight Kiosks Add Cultural Touch to Grand Canal in Hangzhou

Xiaohe Street is a waterfront block on the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal in northern Hangzhou. After a large-scale face-lifting project financed by the government, the block has been restored to what it looked like in the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) when the canal still played a key part in the city’s economic life. Among a large number of things restored or added to the block are eight small houses built along a pathway along the bank of the canal. To avoid looking too much commercial, the Canal Group, which has sets its mind on acquiring a World Cultural Heritage status for the great historical canal, did not want to turn the kiosks into food stalls or souvenir shops. City Express, a local daily newspaper, wanted to promote culture across the city. The two institutions decided in August 2011 to join hands in turning the kiosks into a cultural venture.
The eight kiosks opened doors to local residents on September 1, 2011. They offered different attractions and became instantly popular. On weekends, the kiosks attract crowds of local residents.
On the launching day, an established writer and a television scriptwriter autographed their books for enthusiastic fans at a kiosk. One kiosk is specialized in book exchanges. One kiosk sells and buys second-hand books. It attracts many bookworms from afar. Another kiosk is operated by South-Style Third Uncle, a young local writer who has published a series of tomb robbery fantasies. He offers comic books based on his notorious tomb robberies and other cartoon products. On the launching day, his was one of the most popular of the kiosks. Love’s Nest is the name of a kiosk that offers a mini social networking service to young people. On September 11, Lu Qi, a local author of national popularity, appeared at the kiosk to act as an agony uncle to young people. Most of the attendees were young women. The Q&A session between the author and the young women was extremely lively.
November 4 witnessed the conclusion of the 7-day program entitled “Calligraphy DIY.” By the end of the program, the kiosk had received nearly 100 calligraphic writings from local enthusiasts. Professor Wang Dongling, a master calligrapher of national renown with Hangzhou-based China Academy of Art, autographed albums for this program. He spoke highly of the event, saying that “This is exactly what calligraphy is all about. People should do more than visit a museum and view masterpieces in calligraphy. People should write like calligraphers. Masterpieces are great, but ordinary people’s calligraphy as exemplified at the waterfront kiosk is the very seed of art of calligraphy.”
Yuedu Kiosk offers mini lectures on Chinese classics and modern books. Lecturers here are distinguished teachers and many, due to their dissatisfaction with the current public school education system, now teach at private education institutions. Working for private education institutions allows these innovative-minded and future-oriented educators to offer alternative lectures and special viewpoints on Chinese culture.
In order to allow these kiosks to attract more traffic volumes and survive on the market and flourish, Canal Group and City Express have adopted effective measures. The Canal Group offers the space free of charge so that these kiosks can run at a low-cost budget and easily make ends meet. The kiosks are open to competitors at regular intervals. At the very beginning, the two partners announced publicly to seek candidate operators for the kiosks from all walks of life in Hangzhou. Auditions were held and the first group of winners from a large number of candidates emerged on September 12. They were authorized to run the kiosks for seven days only.
The kiosks offer a wide range of cultural experiences and are popular. Hopefully they will continue to exist and flourish and add a cultural dimension to the Grand Canal. □
