百农3217系用复合杂交选育而成,亩穗数多,穗大粒多,产量高而稳定。经三年区试,平均亩产894.31斤。比郑引一号每亩增产92.54斤,达到极显著水平,产量居首位。大面积种植多点超千斤。在600斤以上肥水地种植,回归线较陡,增产潜力大。在构成产量三大因素中,亩穗数、穗粒数与产量的偏回归系数极显著。千粒重与产量的偏回归系数亦达显著水平。千斤上下的产量结构是:每亩40万穗,每穗40粒,千粒重33克左右。进一步高产,应在提高粒重上下功夫。目前本品种已在河南全省推广700余万亩。
