研发利用水电技术有助于提高美国短、中及长期可再生能源的供应能力,目前美国电力科学研究院正在不断更新水电技术并对其在这方面的作用进行了评估。这些技术涉及传统的水电站、抽水蓄能、河流水能、人工运河(水动力学)、海洋技术、波浪发电、潮流及潮汐动力发电。对各种技术的作用、投入实际运用所需要的研究,以及刺激新技术应用的经济激励措施进行了评估分析。
Research and Development Utilizing hydropower technology can help improve the supply capacity of short, medium and long-term renewable energy in the United States. Currently, the American Electric Power Research Institute is constantly updating hydropower technology and evaluating its role in this regard. These technologies involve traditional hydropower stations, pumped storage, river water energy, artificial canals (hydrodynamics), marine technology, wave power generation, tidal currents and tidal power generation. The impact of various technologies, the research needed to put them into practical use, and the economic incentives to stimulate the application of new technologies were evaluated.
