传统密码体制的密钥分发,一般是通过不同于密文传递渠道的其它渠道。在计算机网络这样的信息加工系统中,用户数目很大,通过其它渠道分发密钥是很不方便的。为了解决这个问题,W.Diffie 和 M.Hellman 在1976年提出了一种新的密码体制:公开密钥密码体制。这种密码的加密和解密使用不同的密钥,加密的密钥是公开的,只对解密的密钥保密。因此,公开钥密码体制又称为双钥密码体制或非对称密码体制。公开钥密码体制的每个用户各有一个加密算法 E 和一个解密算法 D,E 对外公开,但 D 保密。
The key distribution of the traditional cryptosystem is usually through other channels than the ciphertext delivery channels. In information processing systems such as computer networks, the number of users is large and it is inconvenient to distribute keys through other channels. In order to solve this problem, W. Diffie and M.Hellman proposed a new cryptographic system in 1976: the public key cryptosystem. The encryption and decryption of such a password use different keys, the encryption key is public, and only the decryption key is kept secret. Therefore, the public key cryptosystem is also called double key cryptosystem or asymmetric cryptosystem. Each user of the public key cryptosystem has an encryption algorithm E and a decryption algorithm D, E are open to the public, but D is secret.
