Meaning: Refers to the love of applications for smart phones. This exotic ailment is marked by a creeping[逐渐的] lack of self-control when downloading mobile applications.
Those of us with appiphilia need some help sorting through what’s worthwhile in Apple’s App Store.
Meaning: An abbreviation of Obsessive Cellphone Use Disorder. Used to describe a person who continually talks on their cellphone in public, while driving, checking out, or eating in a restaurant.
I wish that boy would get off his cellphone and watch the road. Gosh, he must have OCUD or something.
Ringxiety
Meaning: Ringxiety is a portmanteau[混成词] neologism[新语] formed from the words “ringtone” and “anxiety.” It is described as the sensation and the false belief that one can hear his or her mobile phone ringing or feel it vibrating when the telephone is not actually doing so.
According to David’s study, as much as 67% of the people suffering from the “ringxiety” phenomenon had to pay higher mobile bills and had the tendency of sending more SMS than those who didn’t suffer from the disorder.
Nomophobia
Meaning: This term, an abbreviation for “no-mobile-phone phobia”, refers to the fear of being out of mobile phone contact.
She has nomophobia so bad that she can’t even live for half a day without a cellphone.
