何葆国的长篇小说《同学聚会》(青岛出版社2007年版)时间跨度二十年。这个跨度很有象征意义,大致和何葆国写小说的历史差不多。艺术上的成长真是太昂贵了,耗费的生命真是太多了。从大学中文系毕业出来,他就把生命奉献给了小说。为了小说,甚至放弃了安定的职业。二十多年,念几次大学,都毕业了,可是,他的小说总是充满了变数。我记得他长期写客家土楼,写土楼的传统和当代生活的冲击,近在眼前的乡土社会因远方城市生活召唤而发生的变迁,两种生活方式的震荡激起心灵欢乐和隐痛,隐蔽得很深的内心的悲和喜出其不意地被调动
He Bao-guo’s novel “classmates” (Qingdao Publishing House 2007 edition) span of 20 years. This span is very symbolic, roughly the same as the history of He Bao-guo’s novels.
