中国古代的思想家、教育家孔子的教育思想内容丰富,如果剔除其不适应时代要求的糟粕,就会发现其中有许多宝贵遗产仍然有现实意义。 启示之一,“有教无类”。孔子在教育上的一个突出贡献就是扩大教育范围,主张“有教无类”。孔子这里所说的“类”有两层含义,一是指异于华夏的民族。孔子力图用华夏文化教化其他民族,使夷狄之人确立礼仪,以西周文化一统天下。据《子罕》记载,孔子曾打算乘桴浮于海,欲居九夷。有人问他,“夷狄之鄙陋无礼义,如之何?”孔子回答说:
Confucius, an ancient thinker and educator, is rich in educational thought. If we can find out that many of his valuable legacy are still of practical significance, excluding the dross they did not meet the requirements of the times. One of the revelations, “There is no class to teach.” One outstanding contribution made by Confucius in education is to expand the scope of education and advocate “there is no religion to teach.” Confucius here said “class” has two meanings, one refers to different ethnic groups in China. Confucius tried to use Chinese culture to educate other ethnic groups, so that people of the barbarians established etiquette and dominated the culture of the Western Zhou Dynasty.
