This article describes the characteristics of lithium-germanium PIN diodes for infrared detection. The light wave at 1.6 μm has the highest sensitivity with an external quantum efficiency of 0.66. The measured NEP of noise equivalent power is 2.10 ~ (-14) W · s ~ (1/2), and the detection degree is 2.8 · 10 ~ (13) cm · W -1 -2). These parameters are limited by the preamplifier. The detector dark current shot noise may produce a NEP value of 2.10 to (-15) watts-seconds to (1/2).
