舒德干,男,1946年2月出生,湖北鄂州人。现任西北大学教授,早期生命研究所所长,中共党员。1969年毕业于北京大学地质地理系古生物学专业,1981年在西北大学获理学硕士学位,1987年在中国地质大学(北京)获博士学位,1988—1989年和1994—1995年分别在德国波恩大学、维尔茨堡大学做博士后工作(洪堡学者),并多次赴美,英。德,日开展合作科研,兼任第三届全国地层委员会委员。陕西省古生物学会理事长,陕西省科协第五届委员,日本蒲郡市自然历史博物馆名誉馆长,1999年被聘为教育部“长江学者奖励计划”第二批特聘教授。并于2000年获第二届“长江学者成就奖”一等奖。70年代末80年代,舒德干教授主要从事高肌虫化石研究及数学古生物学研究,究成了全世界4部高肌虫专著中的3部,并在美国,英国,德国,瑞典,马来西亚及国内一些重要杂志上撰文,提出全球寒武纪生物地理分区新理论(即AAAA)温热带生物大区和欧洲冷水生物区,在对数螺线形化石的定量研究上提出一些创新方法,这些成果曾两次获国家教要科技进步二等奖,一次获国家教委优秀专著奖和陕西省科技进步二等奖。
