The submandibular gland is the major secretory organ of epidermal growth factor (EGF). In this study, the DNA content of testicular spermatogenic cells at 30 and 48 days after excision of the submandibular gland in rats was analyzed by flow cytometry. The results showed that the proportion of 1C cell population (sperm cells and sperm) was significantly lower than that of the control group (P <0.01) at 48 days after resection of the submandibular gland, with an average reduction of 12.22%. On day 30 and 48, And secondary spermatocytes, etc.) was significantly higher than the control group (P <0.01), an average increase of 14.39% and 29.31%, 30 days after resection of the submandibular gland to 4C cell population (primary spermatocytes ratio Little effect, but 48 days significantly reduced 4C cell population (P <0.01). At the same time, PI decreased significantly (P <0.01). It suggests that the excision of the submandibular gland leads to the lack of EGF in vivo, which may affect multiple stages of spermatogenesis and delay the proliferation of spermatogenic cells.
