The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has canceled plans to launch small satellites from jet fighters. The contract awarded to the Airborne Assisted Launch Access Space (ALASA) project of Boeing Company is planned to launch a small satellite from F-15 fighter aircraft using a unique propellant, a mixture of nitrous oxide and acetylene, but in early 2015 Two explosives were fired in the ground test of propellant, and safety was questioned. Currently DARPA has given up its plan to complete 12 launches and replaced it with a continuum of propellants and other technologies.
