一幅好的油画作品,总是伴随着恰当地制作手法和精到地制作技巧。回顾历史上出现的不同流派和不同风格的代表作,都在自觉或不自觉中对制作方法思考着,这些作品的伟大与经久不衰,很大一部分原因在于表现有独到之处和在制作上精到的处理。一幅油画作品在制作上的好坏,很大一部分也就决定了整个作品的成败,所以说制作是油画的关键。因为作者要表达的感受,想表现的东西,要通过制作才能更好地体现,再好的理念如果不能通过很好的制作,是不可能反映充分的。而我们有许多的油画作品,在制作上不深加考虑,作品的习作性和过多的随意性,表现出对制作意识的明显缺乏,这种粗制滥造的作品,不要说在历史上能有一席之地,怕是在人们的记忆中保持一段时间也是困难的。我觉得制作是一门学问、是一种文化,需要一定的修养,每一个不同的流派都应该有自己独特的一套制作理论,都需要对其自身所特有的制作方式做不断的探索和研究,使其完善。
