本文分析了《中图法》（第三版）“Ｓ６３蔬菜园艺”的十字花科芸薹属蔬菜类目设置存在的不妥之处，如：“Ｓ６３４．３油菜”的概念、芥菜归入“Ｓ６３４白菜类”都是错误的，给芸薹属蔬菜文献分类、检索和利用带来不便。笔者建议：芥菜类蔬菜列为与白菜类。甘蓝类蔬菜并列的类８，“Ｓ６３４’白菜类”下位类做必要的修订、调整，“Ｓ６３５甘蓝类”增加芥蓝、青花菜两个不同等级的下位类。“Ｓ６３蔬菜园艺”下位类设置应能反映出物种进化、亲缘关系、种以下不同的分类等级。文献分类必须坚持科学性原则。
