卡式表的功能较老式机械表不是进步了，而是落后了。机械表只适用于简单的电能计量。因此，机械表必然要被淘汰。采用什么电能表，要考虑适应新的电价制度，适应远程抄表、集中抄表的需要。
The function of a cassette meter is not an improvement over an old mechanical watch, but it is behind. Mechanical meters are only suitable for simple energy metering.
