Past work has confirmed the parasitic nematode X between grapevines. There is variability in index resistance. Based on these data, crosses were conducted between resistant and sensitive grapevines and cultivars. The resistance of the hybrid progeny of each cross combination is assessed based on the apparent symptoms of the root. The type of separation observed in these offspring is considered to be X. There are two speculative genetic patterns for index resistance. The simplest model contains a dominant resistance gene.
