过春节吃饺子,是我国北方各地的传统习俗,可是您知道为什么叫饺子呢? 原来,春节这顿饺子都是在除夕晚上包成的,待到半夜十二点时才吃。因为半夜十二点古称“子时”,除夕的子时恰是农历正月初一伊始,此时吃饺子是取“更岁交子”之意,因而人们称其为饺(交)子。时日一长,饺子便成了人们的一致称呼了。春节吃饺子的习俗始于明代,盛于清代,但饺子这种食品却远非明朝才有。1972
