1949年1月,淮海战场。在我人民解放军的强大攻势下,杜聿明所率的80万大军土崩瓦解,作为战役实际指挥者徐州“剿总”副司令杜聿明在矛盾重重窘况下,不得不作鸟兽散,率几十人化装逃跑。被俘后,他自称“高文明”并用石块磕破脑袋,想以死效忠蒋介石……杜聿明在回忆这段经历时,每每提到一位“陈主任”,几次打听却无缘再见一面。这位“陈主任”即陈茂辉将军。听听他俩讲述的这段故事,相信读者会更深入地了解淮海战役的最后一幕。
1949 January, Huaihai battlefield. Under the powerful offensive of the People’s Liberation Army, the 80-plus-thousand troops led by Du Yuming collapsed. As the actual commander of the campaign, Du Yuming, deputy commander of the “suppression campaign” of Xuzhou, was forced to flee by dozens of people and disguised as a dozen animals in disarray. After being captured, he claimed to have “high civilizations” and knocked his head with stones and wanted to use deadly loyalty to Chiang Kai-shek. Du Yuming often recalled a “director Chen” when he recalled this experience and missed a few remarks on several occasions. The “director Chen” is General Chen Maohui.
