Objectives: To know the incidence and characteristics of airsickness of passengers and current protective measures.Methods : 1500 civil passengers in Chengdu Shuanghu International Airport were surveyed with questionnaires in the spring of 1998, and were classified by symptoms of the airsickness.Results: The incidence of the moderate airsickness was 44.27% and the incidence of the severe airsickness was 17%. Af(?)er survey of the 255 severe airsickness cases, it was found that 77.25% were female, 22.75% were male and the incidence of the women who suffered from airsickness was significantly bigger than that of the men. The survey also discovered that the inci(?)ence of airsickness plus carsickness was 77.47 %, and the incidence of family heredity was 65.88 %. So far there wasn’t any anti-airsickness medicine with high efficiency and less side effect.Discussion : Physical Examination for air force and civil aviation persons should include the investigation of family heredity, and new anti-airsickness medicine for passengers should be developed and produced.
