sRIO has long been used for low-latency, high-reliability interconnects in embedded devices. Today, these devices continue to evolve, with the emergence of second- and third-generation switches and end-point devices. Current devices can provide improvements over a subset of the required sRIO specifications, including the optional sRIO expansion specification and a proprietary feature set. This print will serialize three series of technical articles in July, August and September to discuss in depth sRIO technology.
