The cycloid is the locus of a point on the circumferential rim of a circle roiling along a straight line.It was studied by many researchers since the beginning of the 17th century,in Europe.Even also in Japa,as this mysterious curve of cycloid was introduced,,the epi-cycloid problems were frequently studied by traditional Japanese Mathematicians such as Naganobu AJIMA and Shoko KENMOTU.In this paper,we will first introduce the cycloid problem treated by Japanese Traditinal Mathematician in FAo period,then discuss it’s propeerties contributed to industrial development of machines.
