水对于人体来说,是必不可少的一种物质,没有任何一种东西像水一样广泛参与人体的许多不同功能。水缺乏表现迅速,即使只有1%的水不足也会出现症状。持续脱水会使心血管、呼吸和体温调节等系统受损,而完全失水则在数日内导致死亡。水在维持生命方面比食物更关键。人不吃食物可存活数周或甚至数月,但是若没有水,数日即会死亡。
Water is an indispensable substance to the human body, and there is not a wide variety of different functions of the body as extensively involved in water as any other. The lack of water is rapid and symptoms occur even if only 1% of the water is deficient. Continuous dehydration can damage cardiovascular, respiratory and thermoregulatory systems, while complete dehydration causes death within days. Water is more crucial than food in sustaining life. People who eat without food can survive for weeks or even months, but die in a matter of days without water.
