This report presents the research results obtained during the contract study of NASA12-2048. The report details the design of a digital flight control system for a typical carrier that will be used by the Universe God / Centaur, Universe God / Bernard II, Saturn IB / Centaur, and Saturn V / Traveler In the next ten years for a variety of space technology. Analyzing and designing the autopilot’s gain and filter required for vehicle stability has led to the development of a single software suite that can accommodate the flight control requirements of any or all of the above. The report provides a comprehensive description of this software layout along with the timing capacity and input / output required by the system. Finally, the results of a hybrid real-time simulation of each vehicle system are discussed; these results demonstrate the capabilities and performance of a single flight control system.
