A breakthrough in the medical field in recent years is the discovery of atrial natriuretic factor (ANF), a hormone that has potent side effects on natriuretic peptides, in mammalian atrial myocytes. ANF’s discovery has brought people back to the heart - the heart is not only a circulatory power organ, but also an important endocrine organ. At the same time, the discovery of atrial natriuretic factor has put forward a new theory for the pathology and physiology of cardiovascular diseases and has also shown broad prospects for the pathogenesis and treatment of diseases such as hypertension, heart and renal insufficiency.
