《包法利夫人》(Madame Bovary,1856)是法国小说家居·福楼拜(Gustave Flaubert,1821—1880)的代表作,小说描写法国内地一个富裕农民的女儿爱玛悲惨的一生。爱玛是在修道院里受的教育,这使她变得灰黯消沉。她以为婚姻会给她带来自己所憧憬的东西,但是她的丈夫是个平庸的人,使她十分失望。在参加了贵族举办的舞会后,她脾气变得更乖戾任性。附近庄园的一个地主罗道耳弗勾引了她,使她更加沉沦,她还落入了时装商人勒乐的圈套。爱玛遇上了早年的情人赖昂,又与他不断幽会。爱玛欠了勒乐许多钱,只得向罗道耳弗求救,却遭到他的拒绝。爱玛感到无路可走,只得吞砒霜自杀。她死后受到众人的指责,而那些无耻宵小之徒却一个个左右逢源,位高誉满。这里选介的是俄罗斯著名插图画家米·马约费斯(,1939—)1971年为小说俄文版所做的插图;这组作品线条细腻沉稳,画家富有表达力的画面结构及不无夸张的人物表情,传导出小说的悲剧氛围。画家早年曾就读于列宁格勒(今圣彼得堡市)的美术学院,后长年在一些大出版社从事书籍装帧和文学插图工作。另外,本期封二刊出的《包法利夫人》的彩色插图选自1950年法国国家出版社原书,插图作者是赫尔曼尼·大卫。这些图蓝青色用得较多,也很有特点。
Madame Bovary (1856) is a masterpiece of the French novel Gustave Flaubert (1821-1880), a novel depicting the tragic life of Emma, the daughter of a well-to-do farmer in the interior of France. Emma was educated in the monastery, which made her gloomy. She thought that marriage would bring her what she liked, but her husband was a mediocre person, which made her very disappointed. After attending the party held by the aristocracy, her temper became more arrogant and self-willed. Loader Earwho, a landowner near the manor, seduced her, causing her to sink further, falling into the trap of Lele, a fashion merchant. Emma met the early lover Lyon, and he kept tryst. Emma owes Lele a lot of money, only to Rhodoeff for help, but was his refusal. Emma felt helpless and had to swallow suicide. She was accused of death by the crowd, but those shameless night curiosity but one after another, high reputation. In his early years, the painter studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) and spent years working in book binding and literary illustrations in some of the largest publishing houses. In addition, the color illustrations of “Madame Bovary”, published in this issue, are from the original 1950 book of the French state press, illustrated by Hermanny David. These figures blue cyan used more, but also very characteristic.
