长江是世界上通航里程最长的河流,通航里程达2800多公里。相对于我国其它河流而言,无论是航道的里程、宽度和深度,还没有一条河流能与长江相比,素有“黄金水道”美誉。长江航运作为我国东、中、西部的重要经济纽带,在国民经济中的战略地位更是其它河流不能比拟的。上游的重庆、中游的武汉、下游的南京,均已发展成为西南、华中、华东地区最重要的水陆交通枢纽和中心城市。沿江分布的国家重点企业的原材料运进、产品运出,都以长江水运为依托。货运量占全国内河运量的80%。
The Yangtze River is the longest navigable river in the world with a navigation mileage of more than 2,800 kilometers. Compared with other rivers in China, no one has the reputation of “Golden Waterway ” compared with the Yangtze River, no matter the mileage, width and depth of the waterway. As an important economic bond in the east, middle and west of China, the strategic position of the Yangtze River Shipping in the national economy is even more unmatched by other rivers. Chongqing in the upper reaches, Wuhan in the middle reaches and Nanjing in the lower reaches have all become the most important water and land transport hubs and central cities in the southwest, central and eastern regions of China. The key state-owned enterprises distributed along the Yangtze River are transported by raw materials and shipped out of products. Both rely on the Yangtze River shipping. The freight traffic accounts for 80% of the total inland waterway traffic.
