本文从疾病的文化性和社会性这一角度出发,探讨了日本明治社会的疾病状况、近代医学制度的建立、以及公共卫生的兴起等问题。通过探讨,阐明了在明治国家近代化的进程中,健康不再是个人的事情,身体变成国家管理和改善的对象。最后,得出结论:树立卫生的“国民”和清洁的“国民国家”成为日本实现近代化的基础。
This article explores the state of Meiji society in Japan from the perspective of the cultural and social aspects of disease, the establishment of modern medical system and the rise of public health. Through the discussion, it is clarified that in the process of Meiji modernization, health is no longer a personal matter, and the body becomes the object of state management and improvement. Finally, we come to the conclusion that establishing a healthy “national” and a clean “national nation” has become the foundation for Japan’s modernization.
