GLOBAL is a new program for computerized logging interpretation that uses a structure that is independent of the model and logging suite. The error model is determined from the relationship between the measured values of instruments and the physical parameters of petroleum - porosity, lithology and fluid saturation. Then, with the aid of the minification routine GLOBAL can find the solution to the smallest error. This solution is considered the most favorable answer to log interpretation. GLOBAL displays a quality control curve to indicate how well the answer fits the selected model. The quality control curve can also help to determine if the model is suitable for selection or if the information used to solve the problem is adequate. The main advantages of this method are demonstrated by examples: • All logging combinations can be used simultaneously, including both experimental and newly referenced detectors. · Suitable for very complicated lithology Adapt to a variety of model and regional conditions.
