福建龙溪郭氏家族以经营洋船业起家,乾隆年间迁至上海发展,进而跻身沪上著名船商之列。在近代中国传统航运业遭受西方近代轮船业冲击下,郭氏适时将经营重心转向银楼业并获得成功。相较于其他船商家族逐渐丧失经商传统,郭氏却得以在新的经济环境中生存下来,除了中国某些传统行业仍有发展空间外,郭氏类似现代股份制和职业经理人的经营方式也值得注意。
