The general circulation model of multi-stage irreversible coupled refrigeration system is applied to investigate the influence of thermal resistance and internal irreversibility on the cycling performance of the system. The basic optimization relationship between the cooling coefficient and the cooling rate is derived and the cyclic behavior is analyzed. The results are of universal significance, revealing the general performance characteristics of multistage refrigeration cycle systems
