乐清黄杨木雕的创造自发于民间,它有其独特的艺术特点和美学价值,经过一百多年的发展,至今蔚成大观,出现了家族世传的以王凤柞为代表的王家黄杨木雕艺术。王家一门三代创作群体逐渐形成了自己的木雕艺术风格。我的父亲王凤作是王家黄杨木雕的第一代宗师。他十三岁开始从事木雕艺术,年未弱冠足迹遍及浙东、浙南等地。三十年代,一些华侨和“温州艺馆”、“益庄元商行”等,开始慕名收购并珍藏他的黄杨木雕作品。1953年被聘请到中央美术学院华东分院任教。他注重以物拟形,以形传神。五十年代,父亲在华东分院创作了取自传统题材的独具一格的黄杨木
Yueqing boxwood woodcarving created spontaneously in the folk, it has its own unique artistic characteristics and aesthetic value.
