木鱼,是流行于广州方言区的一种民间演唱形式。它属于民间文学中的讲唱文学。郑振铎先生的《中国俗文学史》中说:“弹词为流行于南方诸省的讲唱文学。在福建有所谓‘评话’的,在广东有所谓‘木鱼书’的,都可以归到这一类去。”木鱼作为一个独立的演唱形式,也被吸收进粤剧里去,成为一个重要的板腔。木鱼这个名称很费解。关于它的释名,有说脱胎于“摸鱼歌”的,有说来源于“龙舟歌”的,但都没有足够的证据。著名戏剧理论家周贻白的遗著《辛亥革命前后地方戏曲发展概说》一文关于“木鱼”的来历和得名,讲得最有道理。周文在论及粤剧唱腔时提到:“因为粤剧无论何调,唱时皆于鼓板外另加‘卜敌’……”在“安徽梆
