This article summarizes the research and development of pervaporation membrane materials in recent ten years, including water-permeable membrane materials (including three series of natural polymer membrane materials, copolymers and blends and ion exchange resins) for alcohol and water separation, Suitable alcohol membrane materials and membrane materials for the separation of other organic mixtures, and the relationship between the hydrophilic, hydrophobic membrane material and alcohol water separation performance were described. The role of packing material in the process of pervaporation membrane separation is expounded. The application of plasma technology and irradiation technology in the pervaporation membrane material modification are briefly discussed.
