小说《看海的日子》是台湾作家黄春明的代表作之一。作品本着“关心人、关心社会”的文学理念塑造了妓女白梅形象,将笔更多地伸向人物的内心世界,着重表现了她的精神困境和内心求索,并且以“温情主义”和深沉的悲悯及象征的艺术方式完成了白梅对自我人格尊严、人生价值意义的追寻及自证,展示了乡镇小人物在命运挣扎中美好人性的保持,构建了充满希望的“看海”图景,理想化色彩浓厚,其中饱蕴着作者的现实思考与乡土执着。
