Baudrillard describes in our “Consumer Society” a rich, wealthy and fair-minded consumer society of mythical self-expression, which conceals one illusion under the dazzling aura of consumption, but these illusions are So subtle and realistic that utopia is considered to be being realized, people in the consumer society are totally unaware of the dangerous approximation. This article examines three types of illusions: the illusion of equality, the illusion of growth and the illusion of symbolic consumption and tries to reveal one by one.
