The taste of water depends on the composition of the substance in which it is dissolved. For example, water containing magnesium sulfate has a bitter taste, water containing calcium sulfate or some organic substances has a sweet taste, and water containing iron salts has mildew and rot. In some places, the water is salty and bitter because the water contains more sodium chloride, magnesium and sodium sulfate.
