2002年10月12日,中国回族学年会在海南省三亚市召开,来自全国10个省、市、自治区,包括回、汉、黎、撒拉等6个民族在内的80多位代表出席了会议。会议由中国回族学会和三亚市民族宗教局联合举办,会议收到了全国政协副主席白立忱同志的贺信,海南省委副书记兼海口市委书记王富玉同志和海南省政协副主席林安彬同志及三亚市党政领导参加了开幕式。在开幕式上,沙明会长代表学会作了题为“贯彻三个代表思想,促进回族学研究发展”的主题报告。会议围绕新时期“回族学理论与实践”这个主题,就回族学学科建设、海南回族地区经济社会的发展、建立回族学研究基金、酝酿下一届学会的换届工作等四个议题进行
On October 12, 2002, the Chinese Hui National Academic Year was held in Sanya City, Hainan Province. More than 80 representatives from 10 provinces, cities and autonomous regions in China, including six ethnic groups including Hui, Han, Li and Salar, attended the meeting . The meeting was jointly organized by the Hui Society of China and the Sanya Bureau of Religious Affairs. The conference received a congratulation message from Comrade Bai Lichen, vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, Comrade Lin Fubin and deputy party secretary Hai Fubin from Hainan Province, Political leaders attended the opening ceremony. At the opening ceremony, President Shaming made a keynote speech entitled “Carrying out the Three Representatives and Promoting the Study Development of Hui Nationality” on behalf of the Institute. The conference revolved around the theme of “Theory and Practice of Hui Studies” in the new period, and conducted discussions on four topics: the construction of the discipline of Hui ethnic group, the economic and social development in the Hui region of Hainan Province, the establishment of a research fund for the study of Hui ethnic group and the establishment of the next session of the Institute
