在秦汉简牍中均发现有一定数量的习字简,其又分为抄写简和练习简。抄写简和字书相关,研究著述颇丰,而作为练习写字真实记录的练习简则被学界多所忽略。练习简反映了书体的演变,记录了用字的变化,影响着传统字书的编纂。通过对练习简的研究,印证了传世文献对官吏“书或不正,辄举劾之”的社会现实状况的描述。认清练习简,对于简牍释文和简牍文字编也非常重要。
