电瞬变测量技术不同于常规的电阻率测量,它测量电瞬变的衰减而不是稳态响应。通常,油气储集带上出现明显的电压衰减。产生这种比较高的电压是因为激发极化效应而不是因为电磁“反射”。激发极化效应大概是由碳氢化合物或其它成份从储层向上运移引起的化学变化产生的。通过金属——电解液的接触效应或薄膜极化之类化学变化可以产生较高的激发极化电压。
Electrical transient measurement techniques differ from conventional resistivity measurements in that they measure the attenuation of electrical transients rather than the steady-state response. Often, significant voltage decay occurs on the reservoir. This relatively high voltage is generated because of the excitation polarization effect rather than the electromagnetic “reflection”. The induced polarization effect is probably caused by the chemical changes caused by hydrocarbons or other components migrating upward from the reservoir. A high excitation polarization voltage can be generated by a metal-electrolyte contact effect or a chemical change such as film polarization.
