再生稻是在水稻收获第一季后,开发头季腋芽再次种植收获的一季水稻。在种植一季稻热量有余,而种植双季稻热量又不足的地区及双季稻区只种一季中稻的稻田发展再生稻,是提高复种指数、增加稻田单位面积稻谷产量和经济收入的有效措施之一。由于我国经济发展,南方主要稻作区劳动力向沿海发达地区转移,使得劳动力紧张。发展再生稻可以缓解双季稻区“双抢”季节劳动力紧张的矛盾,降低劳动成本。因此,再生稻已逐渐成为我国重要的水稻种植制度之一。然而,由于特殊的栽培与管理措施,再生稻稻田土壤突出的问题是土壤养分
