The huge trade surplus in China is accompanied by a large amount of energy output. This paper aims to quantitatively analyze and analyze the energy flow behind the import and export of “implied” products. Combined with the input-output analysis tool, a more accurate calculation model than previous studies is proposed to analyze the implicit energy in China’s international trade from 1997 to 2006. The results show that in 1997-2006, the implicit export volume in China’s international trade is much larger than the implied import volume, which is a large implicit net exporter. The net implicit net export value (calculated as standard coal) is between 1.1 and 360 million tons Between, the average of 224 million t; accounting for the total energy consumption of 7.7% to 17.5%. It can be seen that although China has a growing net energy import, a large amount of energy actually is “hidden” and exported to foreign countries in the product.
