众多研究表明,词汇量的大小直接或间接影响阅读理解的效果。本文采用词汇量测试和阅读测试作为研究工具,调查了上海某高校英语专业学生的词汇量对阅读能力的影响。虽然相关分析的结果表明词汇量和阅读成绩没有显著的相关性,但是词汇量较大的学生还是显示出了较强的阅读能力。这个结果很大程度上是由于样本量太小造成的。
Numerous studies show that the size of the vocabulary directly or indirectly affect the effect of reading comprehension. This article uses the vocabulary test and the reading test as the research tools to investigate the influence of the vocabulary of English majors in Shanghai on reading ability. Although the results of the correlation analysis showed that there was no significant correlation between vocabulary and reading scores, students with larger vocabulary still showed strong reading ability. This result is largely due to the small sample size.
