理学对文学有意义吗?如果有意义,又是在什么样的层面或界域内对文学有积极的或消极的意义?本文通过考察陆游与朱熹的友谊及其对福建诗人如刘克庄等人的影响,认为理学和文学分属于不同的领域,有各自的思维范式,彼此不能以对方的思维范式去互为评判对方的短长。就理学对文学的意义而言,不存在理学制约或桎梏了文学发展这样的事实。文学的发展有其自身内在的规则。如果有理学修养的人无法创作出第一流的优秀文学作品,只能归咎于其文学素养或功力不够,而不能归咎于理学。如果说理学对文学有意义的话,那也仅仅是理学范式与文学范式互相构成了对照,在彼此的互为观照中,理学事实上成了文学成就文学自身而区别于理学的参照物,这实际上推动了文学沿着自己的轨道发展。
