油茶实象为油茶的主要害虫之一。广西植物研究所曾于1965年提出用金银花诱集其成虫的可能性,继而在1966年和1967年间又对白背桐诱集该虫的情况作了观察,发现这两种植物有良好的诱集效果。据观察,在野外可诱集油茶实象成虫的植物,除了金银花和白背桐外,尚有其它四种植物,但诱集力不及这两种植物。 One of the main pests of Camellia oleifera.
